A Zen master was visited by a university professor who wanted to learn about Zen. When the professor met the master he was intent on telling him how much he knew about Zen.
The Zen master served the professor a cup of tea, he poured his cup full, and then kept pouring. The professor proclaimed "the cup is full and can not receive any more!"
The Zen master replied, "like this cup you are filled with preconceived notions and opinions. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?"
-A common Zen story
If you wish to receive something new in your life that you currently do not have, you too will need to empty your cup. Let go and release. Only then can you welcome something new in.
"You can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created."
Your mind becomes a slave to it's own self imposed restrictions. Break down the barriers, remove all thoughts of "can't", remove all limiting thoughts and beliefs. Then your mind will be free.
